Tom has spent the past 5 years organizing public-private AI partnerships, such as the New York Academy of Sciences’ AI and Society program. He grew up in Appalachian Ohio before studying at Cambridge and Berkeley, where he designed the world’s first PhD in machine ethics. Tom wants to build AI in ways that improve human well-being and public trust.

Sana built technology that changes the way recommender systems used by Google, Facebook and other firms filter what a user sees on their feed. She led vendor partnerships at UC Berkeley’s Center for Human Compatible AI after working at Apple, as well as startups in Forbes’ top 50. A data/cognitive scientist bringing a human touch to AI development.
